UPDATED INFO, May, 2022: Christina "Christine" Domboorajian emigrated to the US from Iran with her Armenian-born mother Shushan, three sisters and three brothers in 1913. Six years later, they were joined by her father, the Rev. Mihran Domboorajian, a Christian missionary. The family settled in Ann Arbor, living in a home at 616 Church St. Christine (b. circa 1895) was working as a tailor and milliner between 1917-1919. She was a designer at the Handy Shop in 1921, and a designer at Dowden’s Bag and Bead Shop in 1928. By 1934, she'd acquired Dowden's location, and renamed it the Christine Custom Bag Shop. Her husband was Reginald "Rex" LaCourse (b.1901-d. 1983), marriage date unknown, but it was prior to 1931. We found a few newspaper mentions of her company in the mid-1930s and one in the mid-1950s. As you can see by our example, her designs are everlasting. Christine LaCourse passed away in 1980 in Florida.
