SPECIAL POST! 1940s Sequined Purse with Provenance

SPECIAL POST! This purse came from Fishy Finds, a thrift/consignment/antique store in Simi Valley, California. One of Fishy Finds' customers is Theo, a man who was stationed overseas in WWII. He would send his wife tokens of affection while he was in Europe, including this sequined purse. Inside the purse was a 2-franc note and a souvenir Paris hankie. Theo's wife recently passed away, and he is now parting with some of these tokens. The Vintage Purse Museum is honored to have this piece in its collection.

  1. How very special to have found, not only a lovely little purse, but the tokens inside. Theo's wife must have tucked this away all those years ago and never used it. Sweet!

  2. Hi Carla! I actually gasped when I saw what was inside of it. I love when purses come with a little surprise like that, especially when I'm lucky enough to hear the backstory.
