Shirley Temple was featured in an ad for the Evans Coronation Carryall as a promotion for her 1949 film "The Story of Seabiscuit." We weren't sure what the carryall had to do with a horse or why it was named "coronation," as Queen Elizabeth II was crowned four years later, in 1953. However, we did some research and found that from 1948 to 1950 a famous French racehorse named Coronation was at the peak of her career. So, a possible connection! It should also be noted that "heraldic" motif jewelry, belts and handbags were a trend during this era.
